Pity Stew                                                                                                       7"x20"x13.5"

Little hurts I toss in here to keep from getting blue.
Once it starts to overflow I make some pity stew.
Bleak stories simmer and swirl in the pot,
a stale aroma fills the air.
I taste the bitter roots of have nots
and the salt of what is not fair.

I can only take just so much of this brew.
Thank goodness my cravings are rare.
I remind myself woe is merely perception
as I rinse out my bowl with care.
